Why Essential Oils?
Providing customers with a product crafted and hand blended using 100% pure grade essential oils, enhances the potency and effectiveness of our health and skincare products. Unlike many commercially manufactured products available for purchase, which use little or no such ingredients, the inferior quality of these products will not provide the same results or health benefits for users. Our company is based on essential oils because we advocate for the powerful healing benefits of this wonderfully abundant source provided by nature. The purpose of our company is to improve quality of life, health and wellbeing.
Why are your products slightly more expensive than other similar products on the market?
The overall quality of essential oils is extremely important when using them therapeutically. For this purpose we use 100% pure, natural, authentic essential oils in all our products. When using the purest organic ingredients, the price is higher due to the complex nature of extraction. As essential oils are promoters of physical, mental & emotional health, in order to harness the maximum potency & health benefits and to ensure they remain rich & complex as nature intended, the price of oils are slightly higher as a result.
We also use natural, rich, organically manufactured emollient bases for all our cream, lotion, gel, balm and soap products which are Paraben-free, Sulfate-free, Propylene glycol-free, DEA-free and artificial colour-free.
How should I store my products?
Products purchased should be stored in an environment no hotter than 24 degrees Celsius and out of direct sunlight. Exposure to extreme temperatures could diminish the potency and effectiveness of the essential oil product.
Where do you get your ingredients from?
All ingredients used in creating each product are sourced from various Australian and overseas distributors. Extensive research has been conducted to obtain the purest, organic ingredients which are Vegan friendly, cruelty free, 100% natural and Paraben, SLS and additive free.
What is a personalised essential oil product?
We offer a range of products which target common health issues or ailments an individual may experience such as our migraine or arthritis roller blends, our psoriasis/eczema soap and cream blend, or our scalp care treatment, just to name a few.
A personalised essential oil product goes one step further. It is any of our range which have been specifically customised and hand blended to target an individual’s specific skin type or health condition. Our primary focus is on customised, therapeutic roller blends or cream base ointments, however we are able to apply and adapt any of our range of products being offered, to suit customer requirements.
We have successfully hand blended ointments and roller blends to relieve the symptoms associated with neuropathy, bursitis, carpal tunnel syndrome, gout, sinusitis, infection, tennis elbow, fungal nail infection, sciatica, sebaceous cysts, skin tears, rosacea, epilepsy, bipolar disorder, varicose veins and psoriasis. If I have a specific condition, are you able to make an ointment to help treat that condition?
We cannot ‘treat’ an individual’s health condition. Our personalised essential oil products/range are designed only to ‘relieve’ the symptoms of specific ailments or health conditions and improve the quality of one’s wellbeing and are NOT intended as a cure.
Treatment of an individual’s health should always be sort from health care professionals, specialists or your physician and the use of any essential oil product should be done in consultation with these qualified health care professionals. Under no circumstances should any product be used as a substitute for other prescribed treatments. In addition, an individual should exercise common sense and prudence, as to which products would offer them therapeutic benefits and relief of symptoms. Use of products are at an individual’s discretion.
If an individual has a specific condition, we are able to customise products to assist them with their journey to recovery, improve their general health and wellbeing and offer relief from specific conditions which are impacting their daily lives.
How do you know what essential oils to use when making a personalised blend for a customer?
At A+ Essentials we take our role in holistic healing very seriously and are extremely mindful of the confidence and trust our customers bestow upon us in supplying them with a customised, hand blended product.
Consultation with customers is the first step in this process. Customers will be required to answer various questions about their condition. This is essential and necessary in order to acquire information about each individual’s specific ailment and is provided at a cost of $45.00. Please Contact Us to arrange your consultation.
Research is then conducted in order to determine the correct essential oils to be used; oils which will target the individual’s specific needs and based on the information given by the customer. Next, these oils are selected and hand blended with a carrier oil or base, depending on client preference and dispatched to the customer together with instructions for application and use.
At any time during application the customer is welcome to contact A+ Essentials to discuss any issues or concerns they may have.
I’ve completed a ‘Customer Information Form’ for a personalised essential oil blend, what happens with this information now?
This information is reviewed and discussed with you (our customer) and a file is created. It will only be used as intended; for the purpose of personalising essential oil products as requested by you (our customer). The information will be kept private and confidential and will not be shared with any other organisation. Your information will be protected by storing it securely on file at our business premises. It will be kept for as long as you remain a customer of A+ Essentials, or a minimum of five years, depending on whichever applies.
I’ve tried a personalised product and it doesn’t seem to be working?
The success and therapeutic benefits of any essential oil product, particularly our personalised blends, are dependent on a number of factors. These include, but are not limited to:
- an individual’s skin type and sensitivity;
- the duration of the condition or ailment;
- an individual’s response to the product being used;
- the information provided by the customer;
- the correct diagnosis of a health condition by a health care professional;
- other prescribed or pharmaceutical products and treatments currently being used in conjunction with or by the individual and/or
- any allergies to specific essential oils or product bases, the individual may have.
If a personalised or custom blend does not appear to be having the desired effect or a beneficial result within a reasonable timeframe, discontinue use and contact A+ Essentials to discuss alternative strategies, blends or methods of application.
Can you explain what your disclaimers mean?
We want to be as ethically transparent as possible, therefore we have included a number of disclaimers/warnings/cautions on all our products, to ensure our customers health, safety and wellbeing are maintained in every instance.
Most disclaimers are self-explanatory and generic for the product in question, however the following require further explanation:
- Caution: Quality & effectiveness of product may deteriorate over extended periods of time.
Our range of products are crafted using pure, authentic, natural and organic ingredients, therefore they do not have a ‘shelf-life’ as such, nor do they ‘expire’. Exposure to air, increased temperatures (heat) or sunlight, will however change the properties and composition of products, causing them to degrade. This in turn may compromise the quality and effectiveness of the product over extended periods of time.
- Caution: If pregnant, nursing, have epilepsy or under a doctor’s care, consult your physician.
The potency and composition of some essential oils can have an adverse effect on pregnant women or nursing mothers, people with epilepsy or anyone who is under a doctor’s care for specific health related conditions. Caution and care should always be exercised when using oils which are known to compromise the health and wellbeing of these individuals. Consult your physician prior to using any product with this labelled disclaimer, if unsure.
- Caution: Avoid direct sunlight or UV rays for up to 12 hours after applying product.
Unlike many skincare products, essential oils provide a pure, natural and safe way to care for the skin, due to the absence of toxins and pathogens. Some essential oils however, particularly citrus oils, can cause skin sensitivity when exposed to direct sun or ultraviolet light, after topical application. Citrus oils have photosensitive compounds, therefore direct or prolonged exposure to sunlamps, sunlight or UV light for up to 12 hours after application, may cause skin sensitivity for some individuals.
All our products are diluted with either carrier oils or cream bases, minimising the risk of skin sensitivity, even when exposure to sun or UV light is unavoidable. For individuals with highly sensitive skin however, caution and care should be exercised in these circumstances.
- Caution: For topical use.
Topical application is the process of applying products directly to your skin or body surface. This allows the product to be applied to specific areas of the body for targeted use, in order to achieve a desired effect. It is one of the fastest and simplest ways to experience the power of essential oils, with the added benefit of their aromatic release, as it is applied to the skin and body.
Do essential oil products make good gifts?
Absolutely! We feel confident that any of our range of products would be welcomed and received with gratitude. Regardless of the occasion, an essential oil based gift is one, when given to the intended recipient, will convey the message of love, thankfulness and compassion. The Natural Body Bar I purchased does not seem to lather as much as other soaps on the market. Why is that?
The lather content of soap is usually an individual preference. Some people like their soap to produce a lot of lather, while others prefer their soap to ‘foam’ less. Our range of Natural Body Bars have been crafted with our consumer’s health and wellbeing in mind. Each of our handcrafted body bars has been designed to target specific physical and emotional conditions and for this reason we have combined an organic, chemical free soap base together with the purest, rich essential oils to create a holistic whole body experience when bathing.
The reason our range of Natural Body Bars may not produce as much lather compared to other prominent manufacturers, is because the soap base product we use is SLS-free and does not contain any harmful foaming boosters. Foaming boosters are used to make the soap look ‘natural’ and more appealing to consumers however prolonged use of soaps containing these foaming boosters may result in chronic skin conditions over time, as soaps which use foaming boosters strip our body’s natural skin oil from us. This in turn may cause skin irritations and skin diseases.
Another factor which may affect the lather content of our Natural Body Bars are the metallic ions of your water supply. If there is a lot of magnesium, calcium and/or iron in your water, these may interact with the soap molecules and reduce lather. Our Natural Body Bars work best when used in conjunction with ‘soft’ water.
I have purchased a Mud Mask and the remaining contents of the jar appears to have dried out. Why is that?
Our Mud Masks are made from the finest quality Dead Sea Mineral Mud combined with 100% pure essential oils. Like any mineral based mud, if frequently exposed to oxygen and other elements within the air, the moisture will evaporate and the mud will begin to dry out. It may also be as a result of the cap not being screwed on tightly enough after each use.
By adding a few drops of demineralised water or quality distilled water to the jar, your mud mask should be able to be revived within a day. If you are requiring it for immediate use, simply add the water and blend with a foundation brush or other similar utensil. The amount of water added will vary and will depend on the extent of moisture loss and how dry the Mud Mask has become. Be careful to only add a few drops of water at a time to ensure you do not over ‘wet’ the mud, making the consistency too runny and therefore becoming difficult to apply.
